All the latest from Ideal Compost

  • It’s springtime, right? We are open, despite the snow. Hopefully it will melt off later today, lol
  • Managed to catch a break in the rain to screen some mulch ahead of our opening day, Saturday the 4th. Mulch in the foreground and compost behind. Due to the early cold fall and a muddy spring, there won’t be soil blend available for another week or so. Same goes for bulk potting soil. It’s been a scramble to get the site ready for Saturday and there’s a lot still needed but we are excited to open the season!
  • It doesn’t feel possible, but we are aiming to be open for the season starting the first Saturday in April 4/4/26. The early, cold, snowy winter cut our fall preparations by 3-4 weeks making the spring a bit of a scramble. Mud season and posted roads are having their usual havoc on getting ready for opening as well. Think warm, dry thoughts!
  • Wouldn’t be a Saturday in the spring of 2025 without rain!
